Solo with Supports Youth Coordinator

The Chimo Youth Retreat Centre is a non-profit organization that has served youth and families in the Edmonton region for over 50 years. Our great staff team provide a broad range of programs and services to youth between the ages of 13 and 22. SWS Coordinators, along with the youth and our community partners assist young people on their road to successful independence.

**We are currently seeking a full time (40 hours per week) Coordinator in the SOLO with Supports (SWS) program.**

**SOLO with Supports Program**: The SOLO with Supports program is a community-based program that assesses and teaches living skills to teens requiring extra support in determining their ability to live independently. The youth in the program live in a Mentor Support Home or in the Chimo 5 Transition Home and receive hands-on 24-hour supervision and support. Youth are also assigned an SWS Coordinator who provides ongoing assistance to the youth.

The SWS Coordinator is responsible for case management and to help the youth build meaningful connections to the community using a comprehensive client centered approach. The Coordinator is part of a dynamic team that assists the youth in successfully transitioning from the care of Children’s Services and FSCD to adulthood and very often to adult services (i.e. PDD, AISH, Adult Mental Health).

**Qualifications**: Applicants must have a relevant college diploma or university degree **and** a minimum of 2 years of experience in related Human Services like Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or Community Rehabilitation.

**Requirements**: Clear, current (within 6 months) Police Information Check and Children’s Services Intervention Record Check. A valid AB driver’s license, clean driving record, and vehicle with appropriate insurance is also required. Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination or medical exemption is also required.

**Salary, Benefits, Holidays**: The annual salary range for this position is $55,584 to $56,784 for 40 hours of work per week. Agency health benefits begin after 3 months of employment. Staff get 10 paid sick days and 15 holidays per year.
