**Job description**

ArborMetrics Solutions is seeking a Contract Vegetation Program Manager for various locations and projects in California, USA. A Contract Vegetation Program Manager is tasked to support a Land Consultant or Senior Land Consultant with the management and execution of the operational goals established by the Gas Transmission Vegetation Management Program in a specified region (Central, South).

**Job Duties**

Job Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Perform auditing and crew support for field contractor.
- Reviewing programmatic goals established by the Area Supervisor.
- Analyzing and executing the annual plan for inspection and operational phases.
- Document and communicate changes to cross-functional team.
- Participating in process improvement activities.
- Communicating on an as-needed basis with the regional PG&E representation.
- Maintaining data integrity throughout the program lifecycle (patrol and operations).
- Maintain and update schedules for patrol and operations to ensure proper data reporting.
- Providing support for customers with additional questions and feedback.
- Document customer interactions and relevant access notes.
- Escalate refusal customers to the Land Consultant and Land team.
- Performing weekly quality control (QC) tasks.
- Communicate with GIS Specialists to correct any errors found in patrol and operational data.
- Review overall patrol performance with the Quality Control Auditors.
- Communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the Land Consultant during meetings and phone calls as needed.
- Providing direct support to the Senior Consulting Utility Forester (SCUF).
- Conduct regular virtual meetings and necessary site visits.
- Provide SCUF with updated guidance documents and training materials for distribution to the team.

**Qualifications**
- Two to Four year degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Sciences/Management, Horticulture, or related field.
- ISA Certified Arborist required (to be eligible for work Visa).
- Must be eligible to work in the USA (valid passport, etc.). Must be able to receive a TN NAFTA VISA at the border point of entry. TN NAFTA Professionals Information.
- Must be able to produce original documents pertaining to education at the border.
- Alternative experience will be an asset for VISA requirement.
- Natural resource degree/certificate.
- Environmental degree/certificate.
- Forestry degree/certificate.
- GIS degree/certificate.
- Working knowledge of IVM, techniques and equipment used for vegetation management.
- Competency in personal computing skills, GIS knowledge preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- One year or more applicable work experience preferred but not required.
- Experience working with or managing forestry crews preferred.
- Valid provincial class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
- Standard First Aid prior to start.

**Additional Information**
- Starting wage is $55.00/hr + per diem, dependent on education and experience. Will be reviewed at 90 days.
- Works outside in all temperatures and weather.
- Possible exposure to excessive noise from machines (i.e. chainsaw or woodchipper, with hearing protection provided).
- Possible contact to environment (i.e. irritating plants, biting or stinging insects, and dust).
- Hiking/Walking on uneven terrain.
- May encounter dogs and other animals.
- Must be a self-starter.
- California project employment with ArborMetrics is contract-based. If work is reduced, then every effort is made to move successful staff to another project that is a good fit personally and professionally. There is no guarantee of duration however historically these projects have been 4 months to multi-year.
- Overtime may be requested. While in the field a typical work week is 55-65 hours.
- Expected shift length (time in the USA before returning home) is 5-6 weeks, and 2 weeks off.
