The BC Liquor Distribution Branch Wholesale Operations division is the hub of beverage alcohol distribution in British Columbia. **About this role**:
Reporting to the Senior Business Information Officer, the Business Information Officer generates revenue from the sale of information by analyzing, producing and distributing a variety of sales data and business intelligence reports to external clients to enable them to manage their business (i.e., assess business effectiveness, plan their market strategy, etc.) ensuring that confidentiality is maintained according to Freedom of Information legislation. Responds to standard and specialized enquiries and serves External Data Services clients and investigations and identifies database issues and follows up with internal departments to ensure issues are resolved. This position also performs administrative duties related to the operation of External Data Services.

The Business Information Officer (BIO) assists the Senior Business Officer in providing a specialized business intelligence service to the liquor industry. The source data is obtained from a data warehouse where a practical knowledge of the available data and reporting tool is required to manipulate the data to obtain identified results to meet the customer’s specific requirements.

This position operates in a standard office environment.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Degree, diploma or certificate in business administration, data analytics, business intelligence, supply chain, or related and a minimum of one (1) year of recent* experience with data analytics, pricing, supply chain related work experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an office/administrative environment using standard office equipment.
- Recent, related work experience must have occurred in the past five (5) years.
- Experience with relational database concepts, and experience using databases to extract and synthesize data.
- Experience in the beverage alcohol industry.
