Payroll & Accounts Payable Assistant

**Job Title: Payroll / Accounts Payable Assistant**
**Reports to: Direct reporting to Payroll/Accounts Payable Supervisor, Indirect reporting to Controller**
**Position Type: Full-time, hourly, year-round**
Purpose: The purpose of the Payroll / Accounts Payable Assistant position is to ensure that all accounting functions are performed within deadlines to allow for accurate and effective decision making within the organization.
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Payroll**
- Receive, review and enter payroll timesheets on a weekly basis
- Verify hours with management
- Process weekly payroll on a timely basis
- Ensure accuracy and reconcile weekly payroll reports
- Communicate with employees as necessary
- Conduct calculations for new hires, changes and terminations
- Process source deduction remittances
**Accounts Payable**
- Enter and process accounts payable invoices
- Review invoices for accuracy
- Record and reconcile credit card expenses
- Review and reconcile customer statements to paid and outstanding invoices
**Other**
- Answer front desk calls during breaks
- Issue POs to field employees
- Assist with service billings
- Other duties or projects as assigned
**Qualification Requirements**:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to recognize and implement change where it will improve business operations
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Valid Class 5 Drivers License
**Education and/or Experience**:
- A minimum 1 year experience in a similar role
**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
