Enervac Application Specialist

The Applications Specialist encompasses both engineering design and functional testing of equipment. The role will be required to design and operate equipment to support configuration of standard and custom products to meet customer specifications, in compliance with national regulatory requirements by using thorough knowledge of design practices and good engineering concepts. Perform a variety of engineering work in design and development of manufacturing specifications for component parts and assemblies, planning, computer-aided design, and analysis. In addition to performing design-related tasks, the Applications Specialist will also be required to review and update equipment operating manuals.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Design of equipment and functional factory testing of the equipment including control systems, the PLC program, HMI program and documenting all Engineering changes required.
- Equipment testing, certification and preparation of instruction manuals.
- Work with customers to troubleshoot existing equipment issues.
- Hands-on work in the plant, assisting the production staff, in a safe and secure manner.
- Provide training, servicing, and commissioning of Enervac equipment.
- Work with internal resources to optimize the offerings for equipment.
- Work with manufacturing, purchasing, and sales on selecting new materials and processes for new and existing items.
- Complete 3D mechanical design work of Enervac products using SolidWorks with storage within the PDM vault.
- Complete P&ID and electrical project design work using AutoCAD.
- Develop bills of material, drawings, and documentation to include design criteria, part numbers, assembly diagrams and standard products, etc.
- Direct maintenance of certain department technical data on component parts, customer blueprints and specifications.
- Project component specification and sourcing to assist the Purchasing department.
- Prepare customer approval drawings and detailed fabrication drawings.
- Research and development for design of new Enervac products.
- Design components within various regulatory agency requirements and Company standards.
- Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc.
- Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively.
- Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company.
- Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
- Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required for success in this role.
- Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

**Required Experience and Education**:

- Minimum of three years Mechanical design/project experience, with a preference in gas process, piping/systems design, fabrication and project installation required.
- Four-year Engineering Degree or three-year Certified Engineering Technology Diploma in Mechanical Engineering required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills.
- Self-directed with ability to prioritize and work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals.
- Technical sales experience is considered an asset.
- Familiar with Allen Bradley/Siemens PLC’s and HMI’s is an asset.
- Familiar with both AutoCAD and SolidWorks CAD systems is required.
- Generation of Process and Instrumentation Drawings (P&ID).
- Proficient in MS Office products required.
- Proficient in the English language, including both verbal and written communication.
- ERP experience is considered an asset, with preference given to those experienced in using GlobalShop Solutions.

**Physical & Technical Environment**:

- Minimal lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment.
- Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs.
- Clean and orderly manufacturing environment and/or normal office conditions.
- Some travel required, exposure to varying environments, climates, and cultures at the job site, changing deadlines, strict time constraints.
