The Applications Engineering Team Lead - Service leads a team of Applications Engineers and is responsible for proposing solutions, costing, and developing service proposals for Life Science Systems’ automation customers in the Life Sciences industry. The role requires a highly motivated, customer-oriented individual with strong problem-solving capabilities, co-ordination skills, and general business aptitude alongside technical knowledge of complex high speed automation equipment. The Applications Engineering Team Lead - Service will execute all activities in alignment with the Global After-Sales and Service strategy.

Responsibilities include:

- Proposal generation and sales pursuits:

- Analyze and verify customers’ requirements and needs, then work with ATS Subject Matter Experts to develop cost and price models for proposed solutions, create initial work plan and project schedule, and draft proposals with keen attention to detail
- Present solutions, costing, and pricing to management for approvals
- Present to customer in partnership with the customer’s account manager
- Follow opportunities through the sales process and keep records of customer interactions using a Customer Relationship Management system (SalesForce)
- Facilitate meetings to converge on solutions and work plans
- Collaborate with other ATS divisions worldwide to leverage regional resources
- Communicate concepts and proposed solutions through diagrams, flowcharts, presentations, and technical writing
- Support the transfer of responsibility from Applications to Operations for won opportunities.
- Team Leadership:

- Manage & coach Junior & Intermediate Applications Engineering Specialists, assist them in formulating optimal technical & commercial solutions and review their work for accuracy
- Ensure team is effectively using our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and other available technologies to manage customer relationships and opportunities.
- Support daily KPI meetings with customer-facing team. And regular team meetings.
- Mentor team members using the performance management process to improve team performance and help employees succeed.
- Business Development:

- Effectively articulate the value proposition of ATS Services to colleagues and customers,
- Support Account Management with customer visits and presentations as required.
- Promote aftermarket service offerings and spare parts packages throughout the CAPEX sales cycle, during the equipment build cycle, and throughout the life of the equipment.
- Customer Relationship Management:

- Listen to and document customer feedback for distribution to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain regular contact with key customer representatives to develop long-term customer relationships.
- Continuous Improvement:
**Qualifications**:
Education

A post-secondary diploma or degree in mechanical/systems/electrical engineering or equivalent. MBA or additional business education is a plus.

**Skills**:
Strong verbal/written communication skills in English. Knowledge of computer programs such as Salesforce, JD Edwards, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook, and Windows.
