**The Organization**

Street Haven is a feminist organization that supports women with fully integrated and diverse services. Women who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, facing challenges with mental health, addiction, living in poverty, wanting to enhance life skills will find a welcoming and inclusive “safe haven” in which to rebuild their lives.

The organization operates 2 shelter programs, three Supportive Housing buildings, an Addiction Treatment Centre and Training Services, where all women can access literacy classes, life skills sessions and outreach and case management within the context of life stabilization supports.

**Job Summary**

Training Services provides services that build self-sufficiency for women through education, life skills workshops, pre
- employment training and case management support. The Program Facilitator conducts workshops both at our location and in the community as well as provides counselling and client support. We are seeking a dynamic, engaging and passionate Program Facilitator.

**Key Contributions**

**Literacy Program**:

- Facilitates diverse, client-centred adult literacy, and life skills workshops, tutoring, referrals, and consultations for women at various stages of the educational pathway.
- Enters timely and up to date data entry in internal spreadsheets, case files, and government database for reporting purposes.
- Provides individual consultations, to clients as they achieve their educational, employment and personal goals.
- Ensures active and closed records of client participation are detailed, accurate, and up to date.
- Ensures tracking of training supports related to workshops and tutoring are accurate, and up to date.
- Provide assistance in the field for program promotion.

Pathways to Independence Program:

- Delivers workshops to women in areas of life skills, self-care, financial literacy and housing support among other topics
- Facilitates Rent Smart® and Life Skills Workshops to all recently housed clients
- Provides programming and initiatives that address client isolation in the community

Pathways to Employment
- Facilitate Pathways to Employment for 10 weeks to cohorts of clients - up to 2 per year
- Follow up with participants following the program and provide counselling and support to clients towards their individual goals

**General**:

- Provide general programming supports, including planning, development and implementation of educational and training initiatives

**Key Competencies**
- Post-secondary education in a related field in the Social Services, Social Sciences, or Adult Education.
- 2-3 years’ experience developing and facilitating educational and pre-employment programming, including workshops with small groups.
- A strong understanding of Adult Learning Principles.
- Experience with Employment Ontario Literacy and Basic Skills programs a strong asset
- EOIS CAMS experience an asset.
- Experience using all Microsoft programs, with expertise in Excel, and maintaining up to date client files that ensure confidentiality and accuracy.
- Knowledge and understanding of issues affecting homeless and socially isolated women, (i.e. addictions, mental illness, and the effects of poverty and trauma), and community resources to provide support and referrals.
- Skills in conflict resolution and crisis intervention and demonstrated ability to assess and respond appropriately to emergent situations.
- Must have up to date First Aid/CPR C Training or be willing to re-certify.
- Must work within a client-centred framework, and demonstrate practice of ethical and professional boundaries.
- Rent Smart® Certification Facilitation Training an asset

- Demonstrated experience of working within an Anti-Racism Anti-Oppression and Trauma Informed framework.
- Innovative and self-starter with ability to understand and maintain client/volunteer/worker boundaries.
- Must be adaptable and have a collaborative work ethic with all colleagues.
- Strong written and public speaking skills.
- Able to work in teams and independently

**Hours of Work**

This is a full time 2 year position for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the possibility of extension.
