**POSITION TYPE: Full-Time Regular (37.5 hours/week)**

**POSTING CLOSING DATE: April 10, 2024**

Lumenus Community Services is looking for a Program Facilitator, for the Better Beginnings Now Programs. The Program Facilitator is responsible for the planning and implementation of Parent Education and Parent/Child programs in the community, in partnership with other community agencies. The Program Facilitator will work to promote healthy child development, and reduce social isolation for families who are new to Canada or new to parenting through building on parental strengths and capacities.

**KEY**

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Develop Parent Education and Parent/Child Programs
- Develop and implement outreach strategies
- Monitor program registration
- Support program evaluation
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community partners
- Program /room set-up and clean-up
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**:

- College diploma related to family and children services; and/or
- relevant past work experience in child and family program
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with young children (aged birth to age6)and their parents/caregivers in a community setting
- A minimum of 1 year experience with program development, implementation, and facilitation specifically in parenting and child development
- A minimum of 1 year experience working with and supervising volunteers and students
- Experience working with community partners (i.e. Public Health Nurses, Parks and Recreation staff members, etc.)
- Experience working with families from diverse ethno-cultural backgrounds
- Ensure location permits for delivery of programs
- Coordinate planning and purchasing of nutritious food for program snacks
- Manage the distribution of tokens and food vouchers to families
- Maintain program attendance
- Complete reports including evaluation/feedback and debriefing with community partners
- Plan and implement community events involving health promotion for families with young children

**ADDITIONAL**

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Satisfactory clearance under the Vulnerable Sector Screening process;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English;
- Ability to speak languages other than English an asset.
