**Facilities Specialist **with our client for a
**6 month contract **opportunity.

**Role Description**:Our Client is looking for a Facilities Specialist to assist with planning and coordinating of all installations and refurbishments for locations with a focus on the Hybrid Workplace Project as a key deliverable.
- The project encompasses lots of BC locations, in all regions, and needs a dedicated Facilities Specialist to ensure documentation of each location, contacts are recorded, lease dates are documented, and an overall analysis of the location is complete.
- The role will also be accountable for ensuring improvements and changes to multiple location are on budget, meet accessibility needs, and are consistent with standards.
- The role will also, ensure the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards and inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Plan and coordinate all installations (heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
- Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards
- Assist with the inspection of buildings’ structures/space to determine the need for repairs or renovations
- Collaborating with all staff facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external Contractors
- Control activities like parking space allocation, building security, office booking system, etc.
- Allocate office space according to needs
- Handle insurance plans and service contracts
- Keep financial and non-financial records
- Perform analysis and forecasting
- Responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing office services and related office activities to achieve efficient utilization of available resources.
- Work to understand the current, future, and required projects adhering to the Hybrid Workplace standards
- Collaborating with trades and internal employees and determine needed resources from start to finish with attention to budgetary concerns
- Assist with planning construction/renovations and schedule phases to ensure deadlines are met
- Handle project administration including schedule control and change order administration
- Outline and execute critical project management processes and workflows
- Manage project risk, compliance, and enterprise governance
- Assist with information and communication flow
- Develop and implement quality control programs
- Working with project groups to smooth out cycles and offer mentoring or training
- Manage invested parties’ expectations.
- Manage project issues and escalate to senior management where necessary.
- Oversee project documentation including project plan, project charter, risk registry, etc.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years of successfully managing projects
- Experience in creating project plans, risk assessments, contingency planning, tracking and management of project progress, tracking issues, and managing resources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work with crossfunctional teams.
- Deals comfortably with senior management and can present and converse with people in positions of authority.
- Good judgment and the capacity to independently evaluate situations and identify the optimum course of action.
- Results-oriented with strong people and time management skills, highly organized, motivated, and driven to succeed.
- Experience building meaningful relationships with the team, other internal departments, and vendors.
- Must have an adaptable work style to overcome unexpected challenges during the project.
- Must be able to manage conflicts amongst the team and maintain a harmonious work environment.
- Must be a team player and willing to assist the team in whichever way necessary to ensure the successful delivery of the project.
- Experience in managing various projects at once and will feel comfortable working with trades for construction and technology.
- Experience with managing multiple facility related tasks for several locations
- Past experience in a crown corporation or public sector
