Overview:
Toronto Memory Program, a Headlands Research site, is Canada’s largest and most experienced site for drug treatment trials in Alzheimer’s disease and related conditions. Founded in 1996, we have made significant contributions to over 100 drug treatment studies in Alzheimer’s disease. Our Medical Director, Dr. Sharon Cohen, a Canadian-trained behavioural neurologist, along with her team of highly trained research staff, have been committed to the development of better treatments for dementia for the past 18 years.

**The Role**

Toronto Memory Program is seeking a registered nurse to join our Clinical Trial Education team. This individual will play a crucial role in increasing awareness of clinical trial opportunities for Alzheimer's disease prevention and treatment. The Clinical Trial Educator will engage with healthcare professionals, referral networks, and the community to promote research opportunities and facilitate recruitment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Educate health care professionals, referral networks, and the community about research opportunities for patients with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
- Conduct chart reviews for patient eligibility.
- Conduct clinical trial study discussions with patients and their families.
- Establish a regular presence in various community settings, including community health centres, pharmacies, seniors’ centers, etc.
- Host educational events and public awareness campaigns.
- Organize regular memory screenings or genetic testing events throughout the community and within our facility.
- Create new referral pathways to clinical trials.
- Complete sponsor pre-screening logs and update sponsor recruitment portals.

Qualifications:

- **Clinical Knowledge**: A solid understanding of Alzheimer's disease, related dementias, and movement disorders, as well as familiarity with clinical trial processes.
- ** Personable**: Ability to establish positive and meaningful relationships with diverse individuals, including patients, healthcare professionals, and community members.
- ** Community Engagement**: Strong skills in engaging with diverse communities, building relationships, and establishing trust to promote awareness of clinical trial opportunities.
- ** Metrics-Driven**: Energetic and highly motivated individual with a commitment to meeting and exceeding goals and metrics, specifically related to the successful recruitment of individuals for clinical trials.

**Qualifications**:

- RN, RPN, foreign MD/IMG preferred.
- Knowledge of Alzheimer's disease and the importance of clinical trials is a plus.
- Experience in community outreach is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with Telus PSS Suite EMR is an asset.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and multitask efficiently.
