**ORGANIZATION**

The Forest Edge Community Pool is situated at 427 Village Green Avenue in London, Ontario. The facility is owned and operated by the Forest Edge Community Club (FECC), a not for profit, member owned and operated corporation focused on offering affordable fun that encourages healthy lifestyles for the entire family. The FECC pool is a hub of activity for families living in the area, and is fondly known as the Heartbeat of Westmount. We support diversity, and inclusion, and reduce barriers for participation, and through daily programming that promotes healthy living, participation, and community at its core.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Prepare work schedules for staff, assign instructors for lessons, guards for rentals, and staff for special events
- Event programming
- Oversee pool maintenance including chemical systems
- Leadership duties
- Assist in staff performance reviews
- Prepare accident and incident records and reports
- React quickly and decisively in an emergency, and to take charge
- Problem solve, and remain calm in stressful situations.
- Listen to subordinates, supervisors, and colleagues and act upon their suggestions or directives.
- Oversee safety of all program participants both in and outside of the water.
- Additional duties as assigned

**EDUCATION**
- Post-secondary student whose academic focus is aligned with the roles.
- At least 1 year of experience in an aquatics supervisory position is an asset.
- Knowledge of swimming and lifesaving techniques preferred.
- Lifeguard certification is a desired an asset for this position, but not required.
- Current (not expired) First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.

**RELATED EXPERIENCE**

Experience working with non-profit organizations is considered an asset, but not required. Previous lifeguarding experience is considered an asset, but not required for this position. Previous experience working with children’s programming is considered an asset, but not required. Previous Forest Edge experience is an asset.

- Water safety knowledge
- Strong communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Program development and evaluation skills
- Organizational skills

Schedule:

- Flexible schedule (hours between dawn and dusk)
- Monday to Friday
- Some weekend availability
- Expected start date: 2023-06-19

**Salary**: From $18.50 per hour
