**The Opportunity**

Manulife is looking for a Manager of Business Operations & Planning to join the Group Functions Data Office team. The incumbent brings analytical thinking and a desire to learn & enable the delivery of how data technology is enabling the transformation at Manulife The position is well suited for someone who enjoys change, adapts quickly and able to navigate independently through sophisticated processes The position will be in the Toronto office.

**Responsibilities**
- Ownership on Group Functions Data Office financials and portfolio management
- Driving a comprehensive view of the Group Functions Data Book of Work while also collaborating with multiple segment data offices and various finance partners
- Driving the internal governance processes, streamlining the process to intake new project requests and provide resource costing & estimation to facilitate case creation and funding requests
- Support the Group Functions Data Strategy design, enablement, and adoption mandate in alignment with the Global Data Team and Strategy
- Drive and support the Group Functions Data process enablement and communications with C-level leadership, data partners and key partners (i.e., C-Level Leadership, CIOs, Segment Data Offices, Corporate Group Functions, Advanced Analytics, Compliance, Security, Marketing, Technology, Operations)
- Liaise with corporate functions such as Finance and Procurement to ensure overall financial health of the Group Functions Data team
- Liaise with cross functional and global teams on key critical initiatives driving transformation at Manulife
- Develop and maintain dashboards using Microsoft PowerBI and SharePoint on an as required basis Assist with the development of key reports and Point-of-View’s on strategic technology trends across the organization and beyond

**What we are looking for**
- Demonstrated 5+ years’ professional experience in technology and business operations management, financial management, process optimization, and data management (both traditional & modern data capabilities) including a University degree and or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent program)
- Advanced project management (agile and waterfall), talent and training strategy and analytical skills for a variety of tasks or projects
- High level of proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel (required) and PowerBI (preferred)
- Proficient knowledge and experience in Big Data, Cloud, Analytics and Business Intelligence technologies to support design, build and implementation for advanced analytics and reporting
- Experienced in working with non-local team members from other global regions
- Remains current with emerging technologies, innovations and practices within the data and analytics industry
- Experience integrating business and technology teams
- Exceptional oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts into business & value-focused language. A key requirement is to communicate clearly and consistently keeping partners well-informed of progress and challenges
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, strong business presence with ability to multi-task and effectively deal with competing priorities. Ability to work with mínimal supervision while performing duties; has the ability and initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish Group Functions Data Business Management Office activities or goals and be a strong great teammate Must be willing to collaborate with teams in Asia in corresponding time zone
