**JOB DESCRIPTION**
MacEwan University is seeking an Information and Privacy Analyst for a 12-month non‑recurring term opportunity with our Privacy and Information Management Department. You will provide support and competencies in the areas of information and privacy management and support Access and Privacy strategies and activities that enables MacEwan to fulfill its obligations under the _Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act_ (FOIP Act) and related legislation, standards and policies.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:
**Access and Privacy Compliance**
- Responding to inquiries and access to information requests under the FOIP Act
- Ensuring legislated timelines and procedures are met; developing fee estimates and ensuring that mandatory third-party notification requirements are met.
- Responding to Privacy and Security Assessments;Developing and assisting with Privacy Impact Assessments;
**Advisory Services**
- Providing privacy consulting services on compliance with the FOIP Act, access to information and privacy requirements, privacy risks, issues and opportunities.

**Privacy Training and Education**
- Promoting privacy awareness and supporting compliance through the delivery of education and training, and development of guidance and tools.
- Participating in opportunities and activities to raise awareness on information and privacy best practices.

**Information Management**
- Supporting information management initiatives to build compliance with records retention and disposition, transitory records disposition, and electronic records.

The successful incumbent will possess:

- A high degree of independence.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven analytical and decision-making skills
- The ability to manage challenging deadlines and multiple projects.
- The ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Strong computer skills, including strong electronic drafting skills.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- An Undergraduate University Degree.
- Privacy Certification.
- Law Degree is an asset.
- Equivalencies may be considered.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: $33.00-$47.00 per hour
