This position is budgeted in Environment and Climate (EC) Division but is part of a shared service division that serves both EC and Natural Resources and Northern Development.

Qualifications:
**Essential**:

- Post secondary education in financial management or accounting. An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may also be considered.
- Experience in financial management and comptrollership, including preparation and management of budgets and cash flow forecasting.
- Experience with financial reporting including the ability to analyze, interpret and problem solve.
- Experience interpreting and implementing financial, payroll, human resource and administrative policies, procedures and regulations.
- Supervisory experience including strong leadership skills.
- Effective written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Displays initiative including the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

**Duties**:
The Financial Administrator is accountable for the management of all associated financial and administrative functions, including accountability for financial, human resource, payroll, client services and wildland fire cost recovery, managing and monitoring of all disbursements, revenues and recoveries, the development of budgets, cash flow, variance explanations, problem solving and maintaining financial function relations with client departments and branches. This position is responsible for implementing Head Office comptrollership initiatives, acts as a financial resource to all regional staff and is the lead on contract management. The incumbent will also have a leadership, mentorship and supervisory role to staff directly and indirectly supervised and be a member of the management team within the region.
