We currently have an opportunity for a Lab Technician (Term, July 2023 - December 2023) to join our team at our newly constructed, state of the art, Richardson Innovation Centre, located in downtown Winnipeg, MB.

**Responsibilities**:
- The preparation and testing of grain, ingredients and finished food products, to ensure accurate composition and to measure quality and food safety related parameters- The preparation and testing of samples (swabs, grain, ingredient and food products) for microbiological and allergen risks- The reporting of analytical test results, including the retrieval of data and preparation of reports for Laboratory Management- The testing and calibration of laboratory equipment- Preparing samples for shipment to customers- Actively contributing to the execution of Quality Assurance Objectives and Continuous Improvement Initiatives within the department- Developing and facilitating training programs as required

Qualifications:
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry- Laboratory experience is considered an asset- Experience in lab data collection and interpretation as well as the storage and retrieval of samples in a laboratory setting-
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal- Previous experience working in a grain and/or food processing analytical environment
