**The Opportunity**

Olympic Industries is excited to offer a highly motivated and detail-orientated student the opportunity to join our growth-oriented team for a 4-month contract beginning in September 2024 as an Accounting Intern

Working closely with the Operations Department, the Accounting Intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in various aspects of accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and month-end closing procedures. This internship will also provide an opportunity to develop your administrative skills while working in a supportive and collaborative office environment.

**Specific Responsibilities**

As an Accounting Intern your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following responsibilities:
1. Support the Credit Team in managing and tracking the company’s incoming payments:

- Resolve payment discrepancies, address customer inquiries, and process credit and debit memos.
- Assist in reconciling customer accountings, maintaining accurate records, and preparing accounts receivable reports.

2. Support the Invoicing Team in managing the creation, processing, and distribution of invoices:

- Resolve invoicing inquiries, issue debits and credits, and update sales orders as needed.
- Enter Purchase Orders (POs) into SalesAssist and complete required customs paperwork as needed.

**Who We’re Looking For**
- Education and Experience- Working towards a Diploma or Degree in a related program such as Accounting.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience with AS400 and Great Plains considered an asset.
- Competencies_
- Proven ability to complete work in a timely manner with exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Outstanding verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
- A high degree of initiative, work ethic, integrity, and honesty.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of an organization.
