**Site Safety Advisor**
- ________________________________________

Reporting to the Safety Coordinator the Site Safety Advisor will work closely with site leadership to provide guidance and direction to all site workers including project management, Team Members, and subcontractors with respect to corporate and client safety policies, practices, procedures, and legislative requirements. This position will support MiEnergy’s Vision, Mission and Core Values in all functions.

- Ensure company policy, procedures and safety regulations are followed at all times

**Responsibilities**
- Identify, respond to and assist to find solutions for all safety related concerns ensuring that safety requirements are adhered to at all times.
- Provide site specific orientation for all new hires, contractors and vendors.
- Perform worksite inspections and audits. Create corrective actions and ensure that issues are rectified including recommending disciplinary action where appropriate.
- Along with site leadership, lead regular toolbox talks and scheduled team meetings.
- Participate and provide advice and guidance to site JHSC.
- Assist in creating Job Hazard Analysis and perform updates as conditions and processes change.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current OH&S legislation, Federal and Provincial laws as well as company standards and policies.
- Maintain project specific statistics and records. Monitor accident/incident frequencies, assist in investigations and complete related documentation.
- Proactively identify leading and lagging indicators and trends in the field and communicate the same back to the field and leadership.
- Maintain all documentation related to health and safety including statistics, procedures, policies and other documentation development and updates as required.
- Provide timely updates to the Safety Coordinator regarding incidents or any other safety related concerns.
- Keep Leadership current on the status of any issue(s) that may impact the work being performed.

**Skills & Competencies**:

- Must always employ professional verbal and written communication.
- Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to stay completely objective regarding incident investigation.
- Job requires maintaining composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and aggressive behavior, even in very difficult situations.
- Open-minded and can adapt to changing conditions.
- Demonstratable commitment to company and client values.
- Above average observation skills.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Acts, Regulations, Codes, ANSI and CSA.
- Must be able to work and deliver in a fast-paced team orientated environment.

**Requirements**:

- Certified National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) or Construction Safety Officer (CSO).
- Certified Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) or Professional (CRSP) is an asset.
- 3-5 Years of experience in a prior Field Safety Advisor role.
- Valid Certificate in First -Aid/CPR.
- Valid CSTS Certificate or SCOT Certificate.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal HSE Regulations, programs, and standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications and other Health and Safety Databases
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract.
- Willing and able to work on a rotational work schedule if required.
