Our **Client**, **Stepping Stone**, located in **Guelph**, is looking for an **HR Manager** to join their team Reporting to the Executive Director, The HR Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that our human resources practices align with our mission. This role involves managing all aspects of HR operations, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development, to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

**Organization Overview**:
Stepping Stone is a community-based agency that believes in the Housing First philosophies and practices. We strive to improve the quality of life for people who are struggling with chronic homelessness, significant mental health issues and substance misuse. We offer this by providing shelter support and supportive, affordable housing to our participants with individualized, participant-driven support plans. The Stepping Stone team collaborates with community services within Guelph-Wellington to help support these plans and to offer our participants wrap-around supports as needed.

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
- CHRP or CHRL designation required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
- Experience in following and maintaining workplace privacy.
- Knowledge of project management and strategic communications planning.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to communicate messages in a professional and engaging manner.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and organizational development.
- Detail oriented and extremely well organized.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, as well as tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.
- Strong understanding of applicable employment legislation and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance within the organization
- Creativity and persuasion skills.

**Overview of Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top talent aligned with our mission and values.
- Develop and maintain employment agreements and job descriptions.
- Collaborate with the Finance Manager to support annual budget planning, including evaluating wage scales and recommending adjustments to align with organizational goals and market standards.
- Cultivate a positive work culture that promotes employee well-being, collaboration, and continuous development.
- Develop and implement HR strategies that support Stepping Stone’s goals and enhance organizational effectiveness.
- Create and maintain HR policies that reflect our commitment to inclusivity, fairness, and respect.
- Provide training and counseling to the leadership team on best practices in people management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement to ensure a cohesive and supportive organizational culture.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop and implement HR strategies that enhance organizational effectiveness and strengthen the culture.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant employment laws and regulations, keeping the organization informed of any changes.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
