**Our Team**
The Lead Analyst Health, Safety, Environment and Risk (HSER) is accountable to provide direction, advice and technical expertise to the process owners to ensure all the program elements and procedures are delivered in a manner that is compliant with Vale Policy, Vale Health, Safety, Environment and Risk Systems (IMS), Vale Production System (VPS) and jurisdictional legislation and best practices.
**The Opportunity**
We are currently seeking a **Lead Analyst Health Safety Environment & Risk** **(HSER)** to join our Ontario Operations Team in Sudbury. This is a **permanent **position.
The role holder will identify opportunities for improvement and for developing and implementing an action plan to address any gaps or weaknesses. This includes the development of new processes, establishment of routines, development, and delivery of training materials as required. It also includes working collaboratively with the team, the operations and with service providers to set performance expectations through active coaching and mentoring.
**Accountabilities for this position include**:
- Designing and developing procedures, processes, and tools necessary to execute the requirements of the HSE Contractor Management Program to be consistent with jurisdictional legislation and Vale requirements.
- Implementation of program evaluation techniques for the maintenance and conformance to the HSER Program supporting continuous improvement consistent with the VPS model.
- Provision of technical support as it relates to continuous contracts to ensure alignment with Vale Global and HSER requirements.
- Collaboration with the site team, contract managers, contract inspectors and service providers in executing the HSER Program in the operations.
- Coordination of the delivery of common educational and training materials for the HSER Program.
- Development of an effective communication strategy for marketing of the HSER Program and Contractor Safety Management Program. Monitoring and analysis of key performance indicators for the HSER Program.
- Monitoring any Vale internal audit and Legal audit processes to ensure that the operation is prepared and that the audit protocol is being applied consistently.
- Reporting audit results and incorporates findings as required into a Project Implementation Plan.
- Assisting the team in the creation and assignment of tasks to close gaps identified in the audit.
- Improvement of the implementation (use and effectiveness) of the Critical Activity Requirements (CAR's, Integrated Management System (IMS), Process Safety Management (PSM), Golden Rules, and the Vale incident management system (SAP-IM)
**About You**
**Education**:
- Undergraduate degree in Science, Technology or Engineering.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) preferred.
**Experience**:
- 5 years minimum related work experience.
**Skills**:
- Independent self-starter with high degree of confidence and business acumen.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, negotiations and communication skills.
- Experience at developing moderately complex, cost and financial models.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with key business partners & executives.
- Identify root causes to issues and actively resolves problems, leveraging cross-functional business partnerships.
