**Compliance Coordinator (98435)**

**Location: Saskatoon, SK**

**Where the Chemistry Happens**:
We are looking for a Compliance Coordinator to ensure that internally conducted confined field trials are compliant with Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) requirements (as listed in permits) as well as internal Stewardship, Quality and Biosafety requirements. This involves monitoring field sites to ensure proper isolation is in place, scouting for volunteer plants and removing volunteer plants by hand rogueing or by mechanical or chemical means. The Compliance Coordinator negotiates with landowners to ensure continued cooperation as stipulated in contracts.

**Formula for Success: You Will**:

- Monitor confined field trial sites to ensure CFIA permit requirements are met (isolation distances met, weed/crop volunteers removed).
- Cooperate with Registration and Compliance Specialist to ensure all confined permit requirements are met and all documentation is in place and up to date. Manage data related to regulated field trials from internal and external sources.
- Understand current government (CFIA) regulations and internal BASF Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Establish excellent working relationships with CFIA inspectors.
- Manage summer students, developing and effectively delivering regulatory compliance trainings.

**Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You**:

- BSc in plant breeding, weed science, agronomy or related field.
- 0-2 years of industry experience, in relevant agricultural sciences, preferably in at least one of the following crops: Canola, Cotton, Corn, Rice, Sunflower, Soybean, or Wheat.
- Knowledge of relevant CFIA regulations and regulatory requirements or ability to learn.
- Ability to identify plants in fields including crops and weeds and understanding currently available herbicides.
- Ability to calibrate and operate small plot sprayers, backpack sprayers, high clearance sprayers.
- Detailed oriented with strong computer and database management skills.
- Proven ability to overcome complexity and capacity to react quickly and decisively in unexpected situations.
- Team-oriented with excellent inter-relational skills and strong organizational and communication skills.
- Professional business manner and high moral and ethical standards.
- Diplomacy, ability to negotiate, practical solution-finding.
- Able to travel up to 15% overnight
