Our chairman office is looking for an experienced and articulate General Counsel to join our leadership team at Primacorp Ventures Inc. in** **the head office, in** New Westminster, BC.**

- **Location**:Head office - New Westminster, BC
- **Job Status**:Full-time, permanent, must be eligible to work in Canada
- **Compensation**: $190,000 - $225,000 annually + comprehensive benefits + management bonus
**WHAT WILL YOU DO?**
The General Counsel will at various times be responsible for the following as well as other related duties as assigned to support the business objectives and purpose of the Company.
- Accountability for legal matters related to all commercial and real estate contracts and transactions
- Providing preventative legal guidance and risk training to the company
- Making recommendations/drafting formal legal responses to issues
- Keeping abreast of commercial law changes and drafting best practice notes on topical issues for use across the company
- Providing legal support in relation to entering into contracts
- Assisting with the development of team and firm wide legal and risk strategy, as appropriate
- Maintaining collaborative and cooperative relationships across all company departments and partners
- Coordinating outsourced legal work
- Participating in professional development activities and maintaining professional affiliations

**_Education and Experience:_**
- Legally qualified to practice law in British Columbia
- 10 or more years of relevant practice based and in-house experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Exposure to the education industry would be beneficial, but is not essential - the role will not involve the provision of legal advice in relation to education
