In accordance with Article 9.05, where the previous incumbent returns to this position within the thirty (30) day trial period this position shall be deemed not vacant and the posting will be cancelled. Should the vacancy be cancelled, applicants to this posting shall be notified.

**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
Within this role the employee is accountable for contributing to the digital health transformation of Kingston Health Sciences Centre through Lumeo as well as other local strategies. As an employee, one must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for actively promoting and supporting patient and family centered engagement and care in all we do.

**PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **Project Management**: Evaluates opportunities and establishes objectives and scope, in conjunction with the client for simple to moderately complex clinical information system projects. Develops the project work plan with input from the project team, clinicians, and is responsible for the detailed planning, coordination, and ultimate outcome of the project.
- Acts in conjunction with the client, to establish the project and produces the statement of requirements
- Works with the client and/or team to define what constitutes a solution to the opportunity/problem and produces a logical model of the solution. Conducts workshops and presentations to validate business processes and system solutions with the functional area and/or the user community in conjunction with the project team members.
- Determines ways of implementing a solution and makes recommendations based on analysis
- Produces detailed clinical information system design documentation in collaboration with relevant IM MRPs (System administration, Network Administration)
- Develops system deliverables such as configuration setup, programs, enhancements, reports, forms, interfaces, and conversions required for the system solution. Ensures that proper quality, integration and standards are maintained.
- Executes unit testing and integration testing: works with the project team to identify mission critical business process scenarios; identifies transactions and data to be tested; manages expected results versus actual results; conducts preliminary/ALPHA testing; assigns follow up tasks to re-configure and retest; tracks error resolution.
- Assists in user documentation, training materials development, and limited super-user training
- Develops project guidelines and communications
- **Operational Support**: Provides operational support and on-call service as required; coordinates problem resolution related to production system issues or errors. For example:

- A champion within Information Management and across KHSC for informatics and optimizing the deployment, maintenance and adoption of clinical information systems.
- Prioritizes the resolution of critical clinical information system outages and support downtime restoration activities
- Complete operational and research requests as assigned
- Support for escalated Lumeo issues for local resolution
- Identifies opportunities for clinical information system improvements to operations within the information management department
- **Education/Innovation**: Maintains a good working knowledge of KHSC clinical information systems and their interrelationships with other systems; maintains knowledge of technological advances; maintains knowledge of how the hospital conducts its business; acts as trainer to clinical staff; active participant in evaluating and experimenting new technology for clinical purposes.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- University Degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Digital Health, or related discipline

**OR**
- Equivalent combination of education and informatics experience in a hospital
- 1 year of experience in leading projects that are either clinical or technical in nature
- 2+ years of experiences working in a hospital or complex care environment
- Knowledge and understanding of a health care environment and associated workflows. Clinical experience is desired to enhance understanding of clinical workflows using technology.
- Good communication skills in both written and oral forms as demonstrated through preparation of technical, training or project documents and presentations to technical and clinical staff.
