Securian Canada is seeking a dynamic and strategic **Vice President, Growth** to foster new opportunities across all business verticals including Affinity & Association (A&A) Retail and Banks.
- The Vice President, Growth, reporting directly to the Chief Growth Officer, is a key member of the Growth leadership team and a senior leader within Securian Canada.
- As a Growth leader, you will play a pivotal role in identifying, creating, and executing growth strategies to increase Securian Canada’s market presence. You build strong relationships with partners and targeted prospects, driving the pursuit, acquisition, and conversion of new clients and new business.
- To be successful in this role, you will bring strong business acumen, demonstrated executive presence and a track record of driving growth, with the ability to think creatively and strategically.What you will do
- Spearhead the development and execution of strategic growth initiatives across our business verticals;
- Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies to expand the company’s market presence and revenue streams;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with affinity groups, association partners, bank leaders, clients, and industry stakeholders, understanding their unique needs and driving tailored insurance solutions;
- Meet growth quotas, profit-based sales targets and sales forecasts, and maintain a high level of performance;
- Lead the execution of go-to-market strategies for new products or services.
- Analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer needs to inform growth initiatives;
- In collaboration with cross-functional teams, develop and execute growth plans, including marketing, client experience, product, and the broader growth team to synchronize efforts and enhance overall growth strategies;
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge and report on the success of growth initiatives and sales team performance;
- Respond to RFP’s/RFI’s and deliver leading proposals that win;
- Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and growth.
What you will bring
- 15+ years of experience in long cycle business development, including 10+ years in insurance industry, financial services and/or professional services firms;
- Proven track record of successful leadership and execution of winning growth strategies in the insurance industry;
- Demonstrated success in meeting and surpassing sales targets, with a comprehensive understanding of sales methodologies and best practices;
- Ability to formulate and execute strategic plans that align with organizational objectives and foster sustainable growth;
- Executive presence through building and fostering relationships in large complex organizations with expansive buyer hubs;
- Strong networking abilities, adept at establishing and nurturing relationships with association partners, affinity groups, bank leaders and industry influencers;
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively conveying complex concepts to internal teams and external stakeholders;
- Proficient in data analysis, utilizing market insights to make informed decisions and refine growth strategies;
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting strategies to changing market conditions and evolving business needs.
