**General**:
The role of the **HR Manager** oversees the human resources function and provides comprehensive support for the Waterloo, ON operations. With a primary focus on employee relations, health and safety, training, and recruitment, HR Manager takes the lead role in guiding initiatives, developing and implementing programs and policies that foster employee engagement, drive performance improvement, supporting the culture development. **Responsibilities**:

- Recruitment, Staffing and Onboarding: analyze and plan the human resources needs and requirements in coordination with other departments managers, oversee the recruitment process, from job posting to interviewing and hiring. Develop and implement effective strategies for attracting and retaining talents. Ensure a seamless onboarding experience by conducting new-employee orientation, promoting smooth integration into the job and the team, and fostering new hire engagement.
- Training and Development: ensure consistency of the existing on-the-job training program implementation. Identify training needs, select, develop and coordinate delivery of the safety, occupational and other professional development programs.
- Health and Safety: support management and the organization by developing and overseeing Health and Safety (H&S) programs and plans to promote a safety culture. Ensure the accurate tracking and reporting of near misses/incidents. As a committee chair, lead the Joint Health and Safety (JHS) committee, overseeing the proper execution of the action plan, including coaching and training for managers and employees. Manage Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) cases and develop and coordinate Return to Work (RTW) plans along with required accommodations.
- Attendance and Performance Management: provide guidance on performance improvement initiatives and employee development. Ensure the systematic approach in tracking and managing employee’s attendance and leaves. to promote a culture of accountability and productivity.
- Legal compliance: ensure compliance with evolving legislative norms and standards, providing professional support to management in aligning with the Employment Standards Act (ESA), Human Rights, and other regulatory requirements.
- Employees Relations: conduct thorough investigations, mediate, and facilitate conflict resolution, and offer guidance and assistance to both employees and management. Manage the corrective action / discipline / termination process, including conducting exit interviews and ensuring compliance with legal requirements. Lead the Employee-Management Committee to ensure the creation and maintenance of a positive work environment, provide the necessary support and foster effective communication channels within the organization.
- Develop and Update HR Policies, Job Descriptions, and Procedures: Provide employees and management with training on changes and ensure proper communication.
- HRIS and HR Metrics: ensure full HRIS utilization. Collect, monitor and analyze key HR data to ensure that proper actions are taken for human resources approach and practices enhancement.
- HR Projects: participate in other HR Team projects and initiatives (located in Langley, BC).

**Qualifications**:

- A strong operational HR background with experience in multiple human resource disciplines including employee relations, health and safety, recruitment, training, performance management and employee engagement.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-6 years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on managerial or leadership roles.
- Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including compliance with local, provincial, and federal legislation.
- Relevant food manufacturing industry experience and/or manufacturing experience is an asset.
- CHRP designation is preferred.
- Proven ability to provide coaching/guidance to supervisors and managers and to influence them as appropriate.
- Excellent communication skills including written, oral, listening, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in complex HR situations.
- Commitment to maintaining high ethical standards and confidentiality in handling sensitive HR matters.
