**About Us**

The **Researcher and GIS Coordinator** will be an integral part of Landmark, working closely with the Project Management Team to facilitate the successful execution of projects. - BA or MA Degree in resource management, geography, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), or a related field
- 5+ years of GIS experience working with Indigenous communities, government, or industry
- Experience using ArcGIS
- Demonstrated ability to analyze spatial and metadata
- Ability to work collaboratively with teams and independently
- Analytical thinker and problem solver
- Enjoys a fast-paced work environment, juggling multiple projects and meeting targeted objectives
- Excellent writing skills
- Familiar with Office365 Applications
- Organized and efficient with time management
- Strong communicator and listener
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Willingness to travel to remote communities and locations

**Responsibilities**:
As a Researcher and GIS Coordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting the Project Management Team. Your tasks will focus on coordinating with team members to scope out and assist with their mapping and GIS needs through research and evaluation of map source data. Additional tasks will include completing research support tasks, participating in events, ensuring seamless collaboration with clients, communicating with multiple parties, smart decision-making, and reporting. You will also directly support Landmark’s Project Management Team with critical tasks such as preparing and cleaning datasets for geospatial and statistical analysis, using geospatial software to process and analyze data, and producing geospatial products that can be integrated into decision making for Landmark and its clients.

- Capture, store, manipulate, analyze and manage spatial and geographic data
- Environmental and regulatory assessment knowledge or experience is an asset
- Establish and maintain productive and positive relationships with Indigenous governments and community members
- Highly motivated to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and to plan and organize numerous projects
- Informed about Indigenous issues in Canada (historical and contemporary)
- Research and evaluate map source data for use in the preparation or revision of maps, charts, and/or drawings
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and research skills
- Teamwork by working within a multi-disciplinary project team

**Additional information**:
**Location**:Victoria, BC, with a flexible remote and office work schedule.

**Compensation**: Full-time hourly employee with benefits. The salary range is $30-40 per hour with room for growth based on performance.
