Maria Montessori School is currently seeking a full-time **Elementary Assistant** to join our experienced and dedicated team.

Maria Montessori School is located in the beautiful Leaside neighbourhood of midtown Toronto, Ontario. We have been providing high-fidelity Montessori education to children aged 18 months to 12 years for over 40 years. At MMS we foster a close-knit, family-friendly community for our students, parents and staff with a strong commitment to authentic Montessori principles.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Experience working with children between the ages of 6 to 12 years
- Punctual and reliable, with a history of exceptional attendance
- Knowledge and appreciation for the Montessori philosophy
- Strong organizational & communication skills, combined with a calm demeanour and a warm friendly attitude.
- First Aid & CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- A current Vulnerable Sector Check (or willing to obtain one)
- Previous AMI Montessori Certification is a strong asset
- This position offers excellent opportunities for Professional Development, which includes enrolment in the Montessori Assistants Course at the Foundation for Montessori Education.
- Please note: The listed salary is a starting point based on a 10 month renewable contract from September to June. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

**Most importantly, the successful applicant must express a keen interest in the Montessori philosophy. **He/she will display a willingness to complete Montessori training while actively working to improve personal knowledge and understanding of the Montessori method.

Pay: From $30,000.00 per year
