Under the direction of the Director, Global Engagement, the incumbent is responsible for implementing strategies, mitigating risks, and administration of international mobility and global experiences. This includes, but is not limited to, physical and virtual mobility opportunities for students, staff and faculty, and other internationals projects and/or initiatives that create global experiences for students, staff and faculty. The incumbent manages all aspects of the international mobility programs at Georgian College (inbound, outbound, and virtual); overseeing and forecasting international mobility financial budgets and grants allocation, developing and managing processes and protocols for international mobility opportunities; preparing students for international mobility opportunities and collaborating, communicating and planning with each partner school and/or agency to support their international mobility and global experiences initiatives. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

- Identifies and creates inbound and outbound mobility and global experiences for students, faculty and staff that will embrace global learning, 21st century skill development, inter-cultural awareness, and global citizenship.
- Researches and presents collection and documentation of the overall market trends regarding international mobility activities domestically and globally.
- Develops the Go Abroad Squad strategies and branding, including promotion of experiences and opportunities in various channels, including, any coordination required for managing this group, promoting mobility experiences through branding, and recruiting, training and hiring student staff.
- Oversees external and internal marketing to familiarize Georgian College community with opportunities in international mobility and global experiences opportunities.
- Chairs and/or participates in groups or committees as appropriate, and work closely with other departments and organizations to ensure the best possible support and experience for both incoming and outgoing exchange students (i.e. Academics, Campus Wellness, Accessibility Services, Housing and Residences, Athletics and Recreation, Registrar’s Office).
- Participates in international various initiatives, events, committees, International educational institutions, and other organizations to represent and engage on behalf of Georgian College and its mobility and global experience opportunities.
- Ensures due diligence is executed for mobility and global experiences risk management, student safety and intercultural preparedness, including but not limited to appropriate pre-departure training for intercultural preparedness and safety protocols are in place and communicated to students.
- Advises students and potential partners/others on the details of programs and courses. The incumbent has initial responsibility for resolving students’ issues such as complaints, appeals, performance etc.
- Proactively establishes and maintains productive and positive relationships with all partners on and off campus and regularly participate in visits by foreign delegations as they relate to mobility and global experiences.
- Liaises with current international partner institutions to promote mutually beneficial and sustainable long-term partnerships while cultivating continuous activities and engagement.
- Assesses, monitors, and evaluates existing international partnerships and develop areas for balance and growth of partnerships in relation to mobility and global experiences.
- Assesses new international institutional partners, based on various parameters to ensure sustainable partnerships, supporting mobility and global experiences.
- Researches and develops country strategies for Georgian College in relation to international mobility and global experiences opportunities, including investigating and responding to potential international partner institutions expressing interest in exploring opportunities.
- Develops and maintains agreement mapping process across the International Division to support a standardized model and communication path for new mobility and global experiences partnership opportunities.
- Implements and/or coordinates software solutions, or other business solutions, for mobility tracking and experiences, risk mitigation, and/or immigration/compliance purposes.
- Orients, coaches and evaluates, schedules and assigns work to staff following HR policies/procedures. In addition, the incumbents initiate problem solving for disputes involving student, faculty, trainers and staff.
