**What we're looking for**:
Reporting to the Organization Talent & Learning Manager, and working closely with staff from across the organization, the Learning & Training Specialist is responsible for learning operations at EPL, including the seamless scheduling and delivery of courses for EPL staff. This tactical role also acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for EPL’s Learning Management System (LMS) and provides organizational learning support and expertise for the creation and maintenance of internal learning and training.

**Learning Operations Duties include**:

- Develop and implement the annual learning calendar and workplan in alignment with EPL’s operational needs and business plan goals.
- Create and maintain a master course calendar to ensure accurate tracking and delivery of course offerings (aka: classes); includes the coordination of trainers/facilitators and training rooms/venues for EPL courses and events. Communicate with managers and staff on a regular basis about EPL learning activities, initiatives, and direction; promote training opportunities and learning activities within EPL.
- Create and maintain learning documentation of policies, practices and processes including maintenance of L&D intranet pages, articles, and wikis.
- Lead the coordination and execution of selected system wide EPL learning events (e.g., Leader-in-Residence events, Summer Programmer training, etc.).
- Act as the learning-resource on select EPL system-wide teams (e.g. Events team, PD Day team, etc.).
- Provide support to ‘open’ and ‘close’ EPL courses including: room set-up, coffee/snacks, AV set-up & troubleshooting, greeting and liaising with internal & external instructors, taking attendance, introducing the session, and after-session wrap-up.

**LMS Subject Matter Expert Duties include**:

- Ongoing upkeep of EPL’s LMS to support the creation of innovative and effective learning content and efficient administrative processes.
- Responsible for the evolution and enhancement of the LMS to ensure the system meets current and future organizational needs.
- Work with internal trainers to create and test new courses and course offerings in the LMS, including instructor-led, online/eLearning, and blended formats.
- Proactively identify system limitations and functionality in designing and delivering EPL courses.
- Ensure overall accuracy and integrity of learning-related data including course completions and certification management.
- Troubleshoot LMS issues and concerns regarding functionality and data, including issues with online courses associated with learning program files such as Articulate files/SCORM packages.
- Create and maintain LMS supporting documentation/instructions/reports for LMS administrators, trainers, managers, and staff.
- Stay abreast of LMS updates and enhancements by proactively researching and understanding upcoming software changes; is a member of the LMS community.

**Organizational Learning Support Duties include**:

- Provide organizational-level learning advice and expertise for EPL departments and teams. This includes the development and maintenance of templates, tools, processes, guides and/or frameworks to support the decentralized, yet aligned, nature of learning and development throughout EPL.
- Support internal trainers in the creation of new courses in alignment with EPL priorities and organizational learning needs. Includes assistance and advice with writing and updating course descriptions and learning outcomes.
- Utilize authoring tools (i.e. Articulate 360) to create and update internal eLearning courses.
- Excellent customer service orientation including strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to successfully communicate with different audiences.
- Strong technology skills, including medium/advanced knowledge of learning software administration, authoring tools, and spreadsheets (Excel).
- Self-directed/self-starter approach with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with the ability to re-prioritize when necessary, utilizing excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Forward-thinking, innovative, and action-oriented.
