As part of the Insurance Growth Network Team, you report directly to the VP People and will play a critical role in the Human Resources functions of the brokerage, across all branches. This is an opportunity to provide people-focused guidance and foster an engaging workplace culture. As an HR Specialist, your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks related to human resources. You’ll be instrumental in ensuring smooth HR operations and fostering a healthy workplace. The HR Specialist's responsibilities include preparing compensation and benefits packages, updating and maintaining company policies in the employee handbook, and maintaining updated employee records. To be successful in this role, you should have a solid knowledge of labor legislation.
- Assist in developing and executing HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal standards and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Administer benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies, ensuring employees are informed and satisfied with their benefits.
- Coordinating with the Learning & Development team to implement training and development plans to enhance employee skills after their initial onboarding.
- Address employee relations issues, providing guidance and support to staff and management in conflict resolution and disciplinary matters.
- Interview exiting employees and process the paperwork for employment termination.
- Support the People Care process, including annual values reviews, career pathing, compensation reviews, and employee development plans.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including employment contracts, employment documents, annual values reviews, and benefits information.
- Utilizing our HRIS to prepare and maintain records of employee hiring, promotion, transfers, or termination.
- Collaborate with the VP of People on strategic HR initiatives, such as workforce planning, talent management, and diversity and inclusion efforts.
- Provide HR reports and analytics to support decision-making and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
- Stay informed on HR trends, best practices, and legal updates to advise management and ensure organizational compliance.
- Explain human resources policies, standards and procedures to employees to ensure compliance

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. An HR certification, CPHR, is a plus.
- 3 years of experience in human resources, with a proven track record of success in similar roles.
- Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

**CMB TEAM SUPPORT**
- Attend department L10’s weekly
- Be familiar with and follow company policies and procedures as established (Employee Handbook, policies, and procedures, etc.)
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and other company functions
- Demonstrate good leadership qualities with a positive attitude and ability to motivate others
