Faculty of Medicine

**Position purpose**:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Chain, the Senior Procurement Officer is accountable for the timely procurement of goods and services of the Faculty of Medicine, up to $100,000, ensuring cost effectiveness and quality.

**In this role you will**:

- Administer and manage the entire Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Health Sciences Laboratories non-Biobar purchases up to $50,000. This includes: analyzing, coordinating, producing, collecting and assembling all required steps, actions and documentation. Make final recommendations on vendor, pricing, conditions, deliveries, etc., in compliance with the University Policy 36.
- Provide advice and assists all members of the Faculty with negotiation with the suppliers. Execute and coordinate purchases up to $100,000, under the supervision of the Procurement Manager.
- Participate in the procurement process for large projects involving complex planning, coordination, capital investments and/or research budgets, in collaboration with Procurement Services (PS), Physical Resources Services and Financial Resources, as appropriate.
- Coordinate the move, delivery and/or storage of heavy and/or large equipment from the loading dock to the lab, in collaboration with all relevant parties.
- Act as a lead-consultant and main contact person for general inquiries from customers, employees and suppliers, providing leadership, direction and coordination to ensure the provision of high-quality services to the Faculty of Medicine’s members and by establishing efficient, professional and constant communications.

**What you will bring**:

- Supply Chain Management Diploma or Certification or at least 3 years of experience in purchasing principles, finance and management.
- At least 3 years of experience in purchasing scientific supplies, chemicals and equipment in a biomedical environment;
- At least 3 years of experience in inventory management;
- At least 3 years of experience of supervision and in customer service;
- Knowledge and/or experience working under the Bill 122, School Boards Collective Bargaining Act;
- Experience using computer systems and software;
- Good interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills;
- Organizational skills and ability to meet firm deadlines;
- Bilingualism (spoken and written)
