**Hamilton Road Business Improvement AreaJOB DESCRIPTION -** Project Administrative officer**Reports to**:Carolyn Luistro, Executive Director
**Hamilton Road Business Improvement Area**:
The Hamilton Road Business Improvement Area (HRBIA) is here to support the businesses on Hamilton Road. The HRBIA is a non-profit organization committed to the continued success of its members through promotion and education, while participating in the marketing and beautification of Hamilton Road and maintaining and respecting the historical foundation.
**Tasks and Responsibilities**:
- Assist with Project and event planning support and research
- Planning, marketing and promotion assistance
- Assistance in updating the list of business members, which will be later used to create an annual business directory
- Engage BIA members on a consistent basis, providing theme with updates on economic development initiatives and other related matters
- Work alongside the Executive Director
- Monitor and deliver on initiatives in progress
- Other tasks as assigned
**SKILLS and EXPERIENCE**:
- Excellent time management, providing accurate and organized service.
- Work experience as a Project Administrator, Project Coordinator or similar role
- Assist in event planning and execution.
- Hands-on experience with flowcharts, technical documentation and schedules
- Knowledge of project management software (e.g. Trello or Microsoft Project)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Motivated in the pursuit of excellence; discretion in prioritizing tasks and comfortable working independently.
- Problem solving resourcefulness with bureaucracy and changing circumstances.
- Preferred Valid Ontario Class G driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
**PREFERRED**:
- Computer with Microsoft Windows 11
- WordPress
- Adobe Creative Suite 5 (e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Norton Security
- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram experience and/or working knowledge
- Familiar with google tools (Docs, sheets, slides, google drive, etc)
- The Assistant may also meet regularly with the Executive, track progress and performance objectives.
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
- Office environment
- 35 hour work week
- Able to walk / move extensively around the Hamilton Road Area
- Event work, which may require lifting, hauling, etc.
- Attending some early morning or evening meetings may be requiredSchedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Work Location: In person
This job is unsupervised at times. At other times, depending on situations or event management, you may be asked to work an extra hour or two or even certain days. You must be prepared to accept the demands for extra effort, as well as an appropriate work ethic during times when working independently.
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: $16.55 per hour
Expected hours: 25 - 35 per week
