Planning Assistant

**Job Summary**:
- Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, the role of the Planning Assistant is to support and assist the Purchasing Department by creating freight inbounds, processing invoices, and completing inventory transfer breakdowns.
**Required Qualifications & Experience**
- 1-year experience in a planning role or similar
- Experience using inventory management systems
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
- Must be able to multi-task and possess strong organizational skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Possess excellent listening, verbal and written skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word
- Advanced user in Excel
**Working Conditions**:
- 40 hours per week; occasional overtime required
- Full-time office attendance
**Responsibilities**
- Creation of Purchase Orders
- Receive inbounds
- Create and convert received inventory into backorders
- Creation of Inbounds using supplier packing slips
- Compare supplier purchase order confirmations
- Compare supplier work-in-progress (WIP) reports
- Process supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner
- Create transfer and quality control breakdowns from existing inbounds
- Daily reports for Purchasing Department
- Code invoices, scan into backup folders and deliver to AP
- Create and maintain forecasting sheets
- Assist in other areas of the Purchasing department and additional duties as required by management
