Reporting to the Associate Director, Operations, PGME and working in close collaboration with the Assistant Deans, Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME), Curricula PGME, Faculty Development and Promotion Chair. The Education Enhancement Officer manages all activities related to the education dossier: program design, learner assessment, and promotions, with specific responsibility for the implementation and ongoing operationalization of CBME, promotions and curricula activities. These responsibilities encompass contributing to the design and development of learning goals and objectives, instructional methods, and assessment tools.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily activities, development of resources, and support, for residency programs transitioning to CBME (EPAs,CBME guidelines, relevant policies).- Liaise with other units within the School of Medicine with respect to CBME-related processes (Medical Education Services, PGME registration, PGME admissions, Clinical AECs, etc.)- Contribute to the development of training resources to build capacity in multiple stakeholders.- Advise Program Directors, Competency Committee Chairs, Student Affairs administrative staff, and other stakeholders on regulations, policies and procedures related to CBME.- Act as a liaison with external bodies including the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the College of Family Physicians of Canada) with respect to CBME and promotions policies and guidelines- Oversee support for various education-related PGME committees.- Participate in the review and updating of criteria for guidelines and procedures, as well as in the implementation of new initiatives that support the strategic direction of the education dossier at PGME.- Keep abreast of new developments and trends specifically in areas related to CBME.- Identify opportunities for improvements and work in close collaboration with MedEd Systems team, finance team, Associate Director Operations and other units to implement change.- Oversee support for development and delivery of various education-related initiatives (faculty development training events, Pre-Entry Assessment Program (PEAP), orientation sessions for trainees, faculty and administration).- Oversee administrative support for PGME Promotions Committee (remediation and appeal process)- Ensure confidentiality on promotion files and assess timelines and deliverables are achieved.- Develop and maintain knowledge of relevant program
- and institutional-level accreditation standards and ensure that PGME education portfolio aligns to these requirements.- Supervise administrative team supporting education dossier.- Provides project management support on additional education-related projects upon request.

Other qualifying skills and abilities

Bachelors degree required, major in education or health-related field considered to be an asset. Experience in project management considered to be an asset. Experience in medical education and accreditation considered to be an asset. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, to effectively plan and delegate assignments, supervise staff, collaborate with various units, and work successfully in a group setting. Dedicated individual with a high level of attention to detail. Strong communication skills, able to transmit complex information clearly and concisely. Able to prepare written reports, graphs and charts, and audio and or video messaging for dissemination. Strong interpersonal skills, highly collaborative and results-oriented. Able to build strong working relationships and adapt messages and approaches to clients. Ability to create online surveys and report on the findings. Bilingual (Written and spoken). MS Office suite (intermediate). Skills testing will be administered.
