Job Summary:
Join us as the AVP of Communications and Marketing at Central 1, where you'll play a crucial role in expanding our presence in the financial ecosystem. Drive Canadians and businesses to credit unions and small banks, positioning Central 1 as their preferred partner. Craft a compelling vision for our value proposition, voice, and brand across diverse audiences. Manage potential issues and reputational challenges collaboratively with leadership, supporting the Chief Client Experience Officer in shaping our holistic Communication and Marketing strategy. Make a meaningful impact on the future of financial services

What you’ll be doing:
Strategic communications & marketing planning, execution & evaluation- Establish the annual integrated marketing and communications strategy in line with corporate objectives.- Oversee the development of marketing and communications programs to enhance the profile of credit unions and small financial institutions as the partner of choice for Canadians and small businesses.- Conduct market research to drive marketing and external communications activities, member and corporate decision making.- Continually evaluate competitor strategies and positioning and devise counter-strategies- Implement sophisticated measurement approaches to ensure marketing and communications campaigns are optimized and the value of tactics can be measured.

Team leadership & management- Build a pipeline of top marketing and communications talent and inspire and lead a high functioning marketing / communications team toward a clear vision, building cross functional alignment.- Oversee marketing & communications budget and expenditures to ensure that financial resources are strategically allocated to drive business growth and achieve organizational objectives

Brand & reputation management- Develop thought leadership and executive visibility programs for key executives to build credibility and prominence for Central 1.- Oversee all external corporate positioning and outreach across all channels and properties to drive brand consistency, message alignment and to reflect the evolving brand position of Central 1.- Build relationships and partnerships with key strategic marketing, PR, brand, and design advisors.- Create marketing/public relations strategy that will allow Central 1 to enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media, industry partners and key influencers.- Explore and refine marketing and communications product for members and clients

Digital marketing enablement- Oversee the digital marketing strategy to drive new and enhance existing relationships.- Drive alignment and conversion through marketing and sales optimization.- Drive the digital marketing capability (website, SEO, social media and search).

Employee & client communications- Lead Central 1’s employee communications team in contributing to a healthy and effective workplace culture rooted in Central 1’s purpose and contributing to the organization’s business goals.- Contribute to shaping and promoting the organizational culture, ensuring it aligns with the brand and contributes to a positive workplace environment.- Build a comprehensive understanding of Central 1’s strategic purpose and offering.- Collaborate closely with Client Engagement leaders to ensure that messaging, activities, enablement, and experiences are designed to establish and enhance relationships and revenue opportunities for Central 1

Events & sponsorships- Oversee the planning and execution of corporate events, both virtual and in-person, that enhance brand presence, foster client engagement, strengthen community and advocacy, and align with overall marketing and communication objectives for the organization- Oversee all external corporate positioning and outreach across all channels and properties to drive brand consistency, message alignment and to reflect the evolving brand position of Central 1.
