**The Role**: Pre-Con Manager
The individual fulfilling this role will support the area in the project’s administrative demands from pre-construction budgeting and scheduling all the way through to procurement of major sub-trades.

**What You’ll Do**:

- This role is required to play a key role with project budgeting and design development.
- Through the development of design this role is required to provide regular updates of the budget from class D through to Class A budgets. This includes Div 1 general conditions and sub trade scopes.
- This role is required to work with the client and design professionals to create a design schedule and the ability to link these activities with the construction deliverables and create a critical path for the overall project.
- This role is to assist the Project Director/Vice President/Principal in working with all departments including estimating, scheduling, procurement, accounting, and other services required (goal is to achieve an integrated team approach).
- This role is to attend regular meetings with the clients, design professionals and Reliance’s senior leadership to provide feedback from the trade professionals to assist in the design approach that best suits the overall project requirements
- This role is to work with the Project Director/Vice President on the bidding strategy for the project with the various trades on all projects.
- This role is required to have the ability to prepare scopes of work for each major trade, assembling bid packages and assist the tender process with project teams.
- This role is required to have the ability to provide schedule information for bid documents and execute contract negotiations in a timely manner to adhere to the master schedule.
- This role is required to work with the Project Team in developing a logistics plan that allows the contractors to complete their work in a coordinated, efficient manner (plan should look to mitigate the impact of the project on the surrounding neighborhood and traffic around the site and forecast/mitigate impacts).
- This role has to be able to establish priorities for the project staff based on owner and project requirements.

**What You’ll Need**:

- Degree in an Engineering, Architecture, or a Construction Management discipline, specialized courses in construction management or equivalent experience and training preferred
- Relative experience in design development and providing all levels of Estimating services for a project
- Broad general experience, education and rotation through and exposure to several departments (an asset)
- Current WHMIS certification and fall protection training (other licensure and/or certification in a discipline directly related to the requirements of this position is preferred, but not required)
- Strong knowledge in developing detailed scopes of work packages across all divisions
- Strong management skills and administrative experience
- Strong knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, industry standards, and other project-related activities, their interfaces, and interdependencies
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Must possess computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (experience with project management software an asset)
- Proven leadership abilities
