In Scope

Location: Regina - This role is eligible for hybrid work at the manager’s discretion - this means you’ll have the flexibility of working from home and in the office (in Regina), on a scheduled rotation once probation requirements have been met. Until then, the successful incumbent will be expected to work on-site, full-time.

Work hours: Monday - Friday, full-time (36 hours per week)

The Traffic Safety Coordinator is responsible for work in the development and implementation of programs and initiatives related to traffic safety through community/partner engagement. The role uses research and data, change management principles, technology, innovation, and collaboration to develop and implement targeted programming that will contribute to the reduction of collisions, fatalities, and injuries in Saskatchewan. Some work is performed away from established headquarters and travel, including overnight stays, is required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Note: This section is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties and responsibilities - other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.- Leads the development, implementation, maintenance, and measurement of traffic safety programming specific to Indigenous communities and targeted community groups throughout Saskatchewan.- Supports program development and implementation by using proactive approaches aimed at achieving a change in culture and behaviour around traffic safety issues in Saskatchewan. This includes communicating program/project plans and delivering presentations to various stakeholders.- Leads, engages, and motivates communities to take ownership in traffic safety program development, implementation, and sustenance.- Represents the Corporation by building and maintaining relationships with Indigenous communities, SGI partners/stakeholders, and other community groups pertaining to traffic safety programs.- Identifies and collaborates with external/internal sources of support in addressing traffic safety issues within communities (e.g., law enforcement, provincial/federal agencies, and Indigenous communities).- Utilizes traffic safety tools and performs event setup for corporate, community, and media activities and programs.- Researches and reviews innovative traffic safety ideas, programs, and counter measures used in other regions (e.g., conferences, webinars).

High Performance Team & Culture- Supports a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively meet the key accountabilities within the scope of the role.- Displays leadership by committing to a culture of continuous learning/development of self and supports others by actively sharing knowledge, providing guidance, mentoring, training, and supporting developmental opportunities.- Demonstrates that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility for self and others.TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS- Knowledge of the methodologies used for program development, implementation, and performance measurement.- Knowledge of road safety issues and traffic safety initiatives.- Knowledge of traffic safety issues in Indigenous communities, in positions where required.- Knowledge of The Traffic Safety Act and related Regulations.- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, language(s), and traditional values, in positions where required.- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, services, and sources of supply related to the Traffic Safety program.

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS- Two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study, such as Business or Social Sciences, or defined equivalency.- Possession of a valid driver’s licence.

EXPERIENCE- 1 - 3 years’ related experience in community/public relations and/or program development.

Pay Range:$59,976.00 - $75,684.00
