Assistant Football Coach Defensive Coordinator

**Purpose**:
Under the leadership of the Head Coach, the Assistant Football Coach Defensive Coordinator role fosters a positive culture that embraces and supports student-athletes, in the pursuit of excellence both on and off the field. The role assists the Head Coach in developing and implementing defensive systems. The role is responsible for the identification and recruitment of Student Athletes across Canada and performs administrative duties in the Varsity Sport Program. The role adheres to the values and principles of Athletics and Recreation aligned to providing dignity for all, respect for all, including others' time and contributions, fairness in all we do and create, and to hold the values of inclusivity and equity as key to a safe and collaborative environment that fosters success.

**Education**:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as kinesiology or physical education.

**Experience**:
4 years related experience.
Football coaching experience the high school, college, or university level.
Experience in administration of sport programs.

**Skills**:
Knowledge of all aspects of football.
Knowledge of analytics required for football.Skills
Able to effectively teach and develop university caliber athletes.
Effective communication, organizational, interpersonal, record keeping, and numeracy skills.
Problem-solving skills.

**Additional Notes**:
Normal office working environment.
Coaches and instructs athletes at competitions and practices in outdoor and indoor facilities, such as gymnasiums and stadiums.
- **Compensation**:
York's CPM Compensation Framework has a salary grid consisting of 6 or 8 steps (depending on job grade) which is reviewed annually with possible adjustments, and a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award. Employees will receive the grid adjustment and depending on performance, eligible permanent employees may move to the next step of the grid and may receive a lump sum Performance Based Recognition Award.Visit the CPM Compensation page on the HR Website to find out more about York's CPM Compensation Program.
