We are seeking an enthusiastic Aquatic Program Coordinator to lead the aquatic programming at our Accora Centre They will lead the operation of our indoor and outdoor pools and all related programming, which includes programming for both children and adults.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
1. Recreation Programme Administration

The Aquatic Coordinator participates as a key leader in the recreation team by:

- Influencing product and program success by ensuring activities are supporting the corporate priorities and department goals and programming budget targets
- Assisting in tracking program revenue and expenses
- Completing monthly and quarterly reports highlighting program participation, program revenue and expense and revenue variances
- Maintaining safe and effective health and safety standards
- Maintaining facility, program, & staffing schedules to support program offerings and ensure all supervision & employment standards and regulations are met.
- Ensuring compliance of legislated requirements for pool and spa operations and overseeing the regular and preventative maintenance of pool equipment
- Participating in the design and implementation of resident engagement events
- Other duties may be assigned at the discretion of the Recreation & Leisure Manager

2. Team Leadership

The Aquatic Coordinator will play an active role in the leading our Aquatic Team by:

- Scheduling, planning, and implementing on-going employee in-service training program(s)
- Maintaining program and staffing schedules to meet demands
- Ensuring quality delivery and standards are maintained by employees and contractors supporting the Aquatics programs and services and required certifications are current.
- Acting as the main point of contact for Lifeguards and Swim Instructors and will train, schedule, and supervise staff.
- At times, they may serve as the main point of contact for all Recreation and Leisure programs and services at Accora Village.

3. Financial Management

The Aquatic Coordinator will support the financial health of the Aquatic operations by:
1. Ensuring staff and contractors are paid on time and accurately
2. Planning and implementing programs and events within budget parameters
3. Reporting anticipated variances to the Recreation and Leisure Manager.
4. Customer Service Delivery

1. Receive and respond to feedback from the public and staff
2. Assisting with public interaction and education regarding rule
3. Regularly participates in community events
4. Models and ensuring the Recreation team is providing exceptional customer service.

**SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Sports, Recreation, Leisure, or related field an asset
- 1-2 years’ experience in aquatic program delivery or equivalent and 1-year supervisory experience
- Exemplary verbal and written communications skills
- Strong people skills with expertise in working with adults & children in social settings.
- Unless an accommodation under Ontario’s Humans Rights Code is applicable, it is a requirement of the company that all eligible employees are and will remain fully vaccinated against COVID-19
- Evening and weekend availabilty may be required on occasion
- Strong understanding of recreation program concepts and best practices.
- Excellent customer service and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience using registration and database programs
- As a condition of employment
- must provide a valid and clean Criminal Background Check for working with Vulnerable Sector.
- Highly motivated with a strong attention to detail
- Current Certifications for Lifeguard, Swim Instructor, First Aid and CPR
- Pool Operators Certification would be considered an asset

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Extended periods seated at a computer or standing to lifeguard may be required
- The job description implies the performance of repetitive tasks.
- Exposure to heat and weather conditions
- Occasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines.
- Competing demands may create stress.
- Physical effort is medium (lifting bags of salt 20 kilograms)
- May be required to attend special events.
