**Columbia International College (CIC)** is the largest private boarding school in Canada. We are currently looking for a **Residence Life Duty Manager-Nights **to join us in the delivery of our Total Care Education System®.

As a member of the CIC Residence Team, you will be part of a vibrant community of international students making the leap from adolescence to adulthood. The position of the **Residence Life Manager-Nights **is responsible for oversight of the health and welfare of all students in the residence community. The position provides proactive supervision of Residence Life Supervisory staff and supports higher-level day to day operations initiatives. The primary focus of this management position is to support the department wide focus of providing a parental style of support for students. The **Residence Life Manager-Nights **plays an integral role in building a department committed to offering a safe, engaging, memorable, and enjoyable “home away from home” in our residence community.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
**Support the Residence management team to**:

- To be the residence representative and point of contact for all residences.
- To be the prime contact between parents, agents, students, residence team members, and other stake holders.
- Execute department programs, vision, including activities and life skills programming.
- Collaborate with leadership team to strategically implement programming and operational functions.
- Collaborate to develop efficient, innovative, and effective processes and procedures across the residence department.
- Provide direct supervision of supervisor team, including day to day coaching and strategic professional development.
- Support recruiting, hiring and onboarding of residence wide positions.
- Develop innovative and strategic recruiting opportunities, including co-operative work programs, with local post-secondary institutions.
- Identify internal staff professional development needs and collaborate to design and execute training using different modalities.
- Build enthusiasm and commitment to residence programming including activities, and events.
- Understand and effectively utilize all internal support available to students including communicating with various stakeholders.
- Build meaningful connections and supportive rapport with all students, in order to provide an authentic residence ASEP report card report.
- Coach students to resolve discipline issues and collaborate to follow school-wide progressive discipline system.
- Liaise with stakeholders to enhance the welfare of the students.
- Work closely and direct Supervisor team to complete administrative organization of the building (bed bookings, student stats, etc.), all tracked through Residence software.
- Focus on crisis management, and supporting supervisory staff to navigate difficult situations in a manner that supports student health, safety, and welfare.

- Establishing, developing, and maintaining a positive rapport with each member of the residence community, regularly interacting with members of the community.
- Developing professional support focused relationships with students to promote academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being.

- Liaising with residence managers and supervisors in regards to any student issues or concerns.
- Communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders to problem solve and seek support for students.

- Effectively and with a high standard, complete other duties as assigned.
