Life Enrichment Manager

Reporting to the General Manager, the Life Enrichment Manager position is a critical role with overall accountability for the management and leadership of all recreation programs along with the provision of support for the home’s marketing functions.
**As part of our team, your role as a Life Enrichment Manager contributes to our resident experiences in the following ways**:
- In collaboration with the General Manager, supports marketing activities, including preparation of sales and marketing materials and reports, sourcing and managing leads, conducting tours for prospective residents and supporting community marketing events.
- Promotes a resident-centered care approach that engages residents, family members and employees to provide recreation that meets the individual needs of our residents.
- Overseeing recruitment, employee and labour relations, payroll and benefits, orientation, occupational and non-occupational injury/illness, performance management, training, education and other people related functions within the recreation department.
- Providing leadership and direction to ensure all recreation aspects of a Quality and Risk Management Improvement Program are carried out in alignment with the home’s strategic plan and with a focus to continuously improve recreation programming.
- Plans, implements, directs and evaluates all recreation programs relating to residents’ physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs.
- Assesses residents’ interests and activity needs, and fosters creative approaches to program design and implementation.
- Responds promptly to address concerns of residents and family members related to recreation, mediates appropriate responses to those concerns and implements action plans.
- Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation including but not limited to: Ministry Acts, regulations, policies and procedures, directives, and collective agreements.
- Provides financial leadership by managing and monitoring the recreation budget and fiscal plan. Takes appropriate action where variances are identified to bring expenditures in line within the recreation budget.
- Fosters effective interpersonal relationships between residents, families and other interdisciplinary health team members in relation to programs and recreation.
- Participates with the interdisciplinary team in strategic planning for the home and leads and participates in committees as required.
- Maintains an organized system of records management for the recreation department.
- Works in accordance with the organization's Health and Safety Policies and Procedures and in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Develop and implement creative and engaging life enrichment programs for residents
- Coordinate and schedule activities, events, and outings
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure a well-rounded program
- Create and distribute promotional materials for events and programs
- Conduct research to identify new trends and ideas for life enrichment programs
- Collaborate with sales team to promote community events and attract new residents
**What You Need**:
- A post secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university.
- Must have demonstrated supervisory and leadership abilities in a management capacity, preferably in retirement or a healthcare setting.
- Strong relationship building abilities and organizing skills with the ability to lead and influence others.
- Must posses excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to multi-task and detail oriented, coupled with strong relationship building abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Point Click Care and other computerized documentation systems.
