**The Opportunity**

The Director, Corporate Communications, will elevate Amica’s corporate communication function by promoting effective and engaging communications, building relationships with all Amica stakeholders, and proactively seeking opportunities to raise Amica’s profile with relevant audiences.

In this opportunity, you will lead both the external and internal communications while preserving the reputation of our brand. You will provide leadership in all areas of media relations, crisis communications, public engagement initiatives, and partner with the marketing team on Amica’s social media strategy and annual plan. You know how to maintain strategic relationships with the public.

In this exciting leadership role, you will work with the Amica leadership team to drive the organization’s corporate communications plan and work cross-functionally with all departments to create alignment and consistency. In this role, there will be times you will lead and there will be times when you will collaborate and support internal clients. You will bring with your communications expertise with extensive marketing experience.

**What you will be doing**
- Develop Amica’s external and internal communications function.
- Drives the execution of the communications strategy owned by the VP of Marketing & Communications.
- Provide leadership, direction and development to the Communications team.
- Ensure all communications content (external and internal) is relevant and aligned with Amica’s brand and the company’s strategic positioning and culture.
- Proactively seek out and maximize opportunities for traditional and earned media exposure.
- Utilize all communications mediums (including social media and video) to create engaging content.
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholder groups and partner with business leaders for communications requirements.
- Provide communications support to the executive leadership team including preparing briefing notes, media relations coaching, and writing short and long-form content.
- Partner with marketing to develop and execute a corporate social media strategy.
- Oversee crisis communication.
- Assist with government relations and related communications.
- Design and conduct media relations training for all senior staff.
- Set departmental objectives and key results, track quantitative progress and report outcomes.

**What we are looking for**
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or another communications-related discipline (or equivalency from work experience)
- 5+ years working in marketing.
- Minimum of 8+ years of progressive experience designing a corporate communications strategy
- 3+ years of experience leading a communications team (experience leading remotely would be considered an asset)
- High collaboration and business partnership across all levels of the organization
- Concise, clear and cooperative communicator
- Sound decision making ability.
- Deep proficiency as an engaging storyteller with impeccable professional writing, presentation, and editing skills.
- Strong public relations management skills, including preparing press releases and press statements.
- Ability to manage business-critical issues, including crisis management and reputation protection.
- Knowledge of social media with a pulse on the ever-changing trends
- Demonstrated project management skills to balance multiple projects and respond to opportunities with tight deadlines.
- Ability to communicate visually to engage, influence, and inspire.
- Strong sense of aesthetic across all communications and media platforms (including video)
- Ability to think creatively and problem-solve under pressure.

- Ability to think critically and creatively about issues and opportunities and present options to support strategic risk-taking and innovation.
