The GO Expansion scope : new electriclocomotives, fl eet upgrades, train control systems, network electrifi cation, signalling, telecommunications anddigital systems, maintenance, and much more.

We are currently looking for an HSE Advisor to join the Health, Safety and Environment team of the Alstom Go Expansion project.

This HSE Advisor is based located in Toronto with time allocated to Headoffice, Site based works with some possilibty of Hybrid.

**Purpose of the job**:
This position is mainly on construction site (60%-80%) with an administrative portion (40%-20%).

You will ensure compliance with EHS rules on the site for both Alstom employees and Alstom contractors for testing & commissioning phases on equipements and trains. You will work closely with the Project EHS Project Manager, other Project HSE Advisors, the supervisors assigned to the contractors / employees, employees/contractors and the prime contractor.

Here are some examples of the responsibilities and tasks you will be assigned:
**Key accountabilities**:

- Inspections and monitoring on site
- Work permit overview
- Support employees/contractors on risk assessment
- Coaching of supervisors
- Broadcast EHS Induction for contractors / employees
- Contractors Management
- JHSC Committee
- Broadcast monthly toolbox
- Accident investigation and action follow up
- Qualification of contractor EHS documentation and monitoring
- Emergency measures and first aid
- Has full authority and must stop any operational activity resulting in immediate high risk to People or the Environment.

**Performance measurements**:

- Documented inspections
- Total recordable
- Lost time / Fatality / severe accidents
- Modified work program
- Health and wellbeing activities
- Environmental (Energy, water, waste, TOPE, VOC,..)
- Training hours
- Contractor readyness
- Monthly Tool box
- Enforcement of the OHSA & Regulations and Project Specific EHS Program and requirments

**Educational Requirements**
- Health & Safety Qualification (or working towards it) such as NCSO, GSC Safety Coordinator
- University EHS preferred
- Consideration of professional trade experience combined safety training and experience with NCSO certification or working towards it

**Mandatory**:

- Experience between 2 and 5 years in Environment, Health & Safety
- Experience on construction site, mandatory
- Leadership, mandatory
- Good knowledge of computer systems Office (word, outlook etc), mandatory. Sharepoint knowledge an asset.
- Experience in projects, an asset
- Experience in railway, an asset
- Good written English, mandatory
- Driving license, mandatory
- Good knowledge and understanding of ISO14001, OHSAS 18001,ISO45001 preferred
- Deep knowledge of local legal requirements, mandatory
