Your future duties and responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain Sybase databases to ensure optimal performance and availability.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Perform database maintenance, such as upgrades, patching and migrations.
- Manage security and access control to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of data.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, including database design, procedures and standards.
- Develop, test, and ensure quality, production and the use of database latest versions;
- Follow up and control the performance and status of a specific IT element;
- Oversee routine tests and analyses of a specific IT element;
- Use software tools and material to diagnose and solve issues/outages;
- Resolve problems in compliance with the established procedures;
- Use standard tools and procedures to carry out the established service deliveries and maintenance tasks;
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems or a related field
- 7 years of experience as a database administrator
- 3 years of experience with Sybase on Linux
- Experience with Postgres would be as asset
- Strong problem solving and debugging skills
