**Job Summary**:
This position will provide customer-focused services to internal and external clients on matters relating to traffic operations and safety programs, traffic signal and red light camera operations and maintenance of transportation infrastructure. This position will assist in monitoring the operations and maintenance of the regions signal and system network ensuring its effective operation of traffic flow.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and maintain operation Halton’s Red light program.
- Assist with operating and maintaining the Regions Traffic Signal and System network.
- Maintain the Regions Synchro model regional road network - updating LOS on regional roads.
- Maintain the Regions traffic database of TMC’s, ATR’s, RLC performance, speed data and collision statistics.
- Maintain the Regions PHM-125 database with current up-to-date drawings.
- Conduct reviews, Comment on intersection design and Inspect regional capital works.
- Conduct reviews, Comment and Respond to issues such as general road operations, traffic management plans.
- Co-ordinate installation, maintenance of traffic control devices along with payment of invoices.
- Participate in traffic operational and safety assessments (operations & collision analysis) to improve safety and efficiency of new and existing Regional Roads.
- Prepare traffic operational related memos and reports.
- Assist with the management of Halton owned Variable Message Sign boards (VMS) as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Skills & Qualifications**:
**Essential**
- Diploma in Transportation Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience.
- Strong analytical, organizational, time management, project management and critical problem solving skills.
- Strong customer service skills for leading and coordinating regional initiatives.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the OPS Standards, TAC Geometric Design Guide, Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) and Highway Traffic Act (HTA).

**Preferred**
- Proficiency in the use of Siebel, and experience with Traffic Engineering Software (TES).

- The incumbent will be required to occasionally work outside of Halton’s core work hours, may be required to participate as a staff member of after-hours standby.
- Travel is required. Incumbent must supply their own transportation at times to travel between locations within Halton Region.
