**Leader, Clinical Education and Special Projects - Clerical**

Reporting to the Senior Leader or designate, the Leader, Clinical Education and Special Projects, Clerical is an innovator, knowledge translator, facilitator and change agent accountable for developing and delivering excellence in clinical education. The scope of practice of the Leader, Clinical Education and Special Projects, Clerical is broad and complex working within and across C&W to provide planning, coordination, delivery and evaluation of specialized education programs/projects that contribute to the achievement of clinical area/program/Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA) goals and objectives, accreditation mandates and the alignment with the C&W strategic action plans. The Leader, Clinical Education and Special Projects, Clerical monitors and tracks project progress according to project plan makes recommendations to the Senior Leader on changes required to facilitate a successful outcome regarding major barriers encountered.

**What you’ll do**
- Work under the guidance of Senior Leaders and collaboratively with program leaders, and staff to assess program and cross-program clerical education needs and priorities and develops learning strategies, education plans and standards to meet those needs. Implements and evaluates resulting learning programs.
- Provide education, consultation, guidance and support curriculum design, materials development and effective learning strategies including teaching, facilitation and simulation and provides on-the-job support to clerical staff. Assist with site-wide implementation and coordination of initiatives. Establishes evaluation plans using logic and Kirkpatrick models to ensure learning programs are meeting learning outcomes.
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of assigned competency-based learning programs for orientation and continuing education of clerical staff, integrating these with policies and procedures and the performance management process. Ensure the development and updating of resources to support such education in order to develop and maintain staff competency with changing procedures, processes and electronic health record.
- Lead the review of existing education programs and projects to inform current curriculum development and implementation. Engage with leadership, academic and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality specialty education design that is in alignment with provincial, PHSA, and C&W priorities or needs, such as human resource planning, accreditation, and competencies.
- Collaborate with clerical leaders in the development of policies, procedures and guidelines for clerical staff.
- Identify clerical staff needs to onboarding to CW and CST training and develop education plan.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed on time as identified in the project plan. Identify gaps and tracks metrics as they relate to the project deliverables and provides consultation, guidance and support to designated project staff, contractors and stakeholders.

**What you bring**
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a health discipline and minimum of five (5) years, recent, related health care experience. Past clerical and education experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of electronic health records is required

- Sound knowledge of existing systems and processes that support movement of patients through the acute care system.
- Extensive experience using related computer technology.
- Ability to develop educational strategies and programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal effectively with others including clerical staff, program managers, patients and physicians.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Demonstrated self-starter with high level of motivation. Adaptable and flexible to meet changing priorities and resource constraints.
- Experience using electronic health records is an asset.
