**The Opportunity**

DIVERSEcity Community Resources Society is seeking a **Manager, Capacity Building and Community Engagement** to oversee the Collective Advocacy for Rights and Education (C.A.R.E) For the Migrant Workers Support Project. This position involves developing and leading capacity-building initiatives for sub-agreement holders (SAH), overseeing critical supports such as language training classes and emergency support services, and strengthening partnerships within the community to enhance the impact and reach of C.A.R.E. The Manager works closely with the Manager of Subcontractor Services, community organizations, and other partners to address the needs of migrant workers effectively and ensure high-quality service delivery and impactful outcomes.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Create tailored programs for these partners that include training sessions, resource packs, and regular updates on labor laws and workers' rights.
- Set up mechanisms to track the effectiveness of outreach and partnership activities, English Classes, Emergency Fund, counseling referrals and gather feedback from Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) and employers, and adjust strategies as needed based on this feedback.
- Use various communication channels to highlight successful partnerships and promote the benefits of employer participation, aiming to expand the network of supportive employers.
- Assist SAHs in developing strategies to engage TFWs in both physical and digital spaces.
- Conduct outreach visits to farms, workplaces, and community hubs to connect with TFWs and get direct feedback.
- Ensure that outreach materials and messaging are culturally and linguistically appropriate for diverse worker populations.
- Identify and build relationships with key organizations such as community centers, religious groups, cultural organizations, employers and NGOs that interact directly with TFWs.
- Collaborate with partners to harmonize outreach efforts and provide comprehensive support services to workers.
- Facilitate joint initiatives, such as workshops and informational events, to disseminate critical information to TFWs.
- Serve as the primary contact for counseling referrals, ensuring timely and appropriate follow-up and maintain records ensuring confidentiality
- Process and coordinate requests for emergency financial support and maintain records of requests, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with program policies.
- Coordinate, purchase and distribute welcoming kits for Temporary Foreign Workers
- Represent the program in community forums, meetings, and events to advocate for migrant worker needs and promote the program’s mission.
- Stay informed about policy changes and emerging trends affecting migrant workers to adapt program strategies as needed.
- Implement project infrastructure (e.g. work plan, outreach, and communications strategies).
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager and co-manager on all contractual work, including budget development and forecasts, preparation of monthly expense claims, and financial and narrative reporting.
- Manage budgets related to program activities including tracking expenses, ensuring cost-effectiveness and accountability.
- Oversee all required C.A.R.E. for Migrant worker's support meetings.
- Research further funding streams and develop grant proposals based on strategic needs.
- Keep the Senior Manager of Surrey LIP and Collaboration informed about issues related to managed programs, especially potential risks to the organization.
- University or college diploma in Community Planning and Engagement, Social Policy, Non-Profit Management, or demonstrated related experience in the field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a community-based non-profit society or related field;
- At least 2 years' experience in program management experience.
- Minimum 1-year experience in supervising staff, preferably within a unionized setting;
- Experience with budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring;
- Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders to catalyze collaboration.
- Knowledge of Temporary Foreign Worker/ migrant worker issues;
- Experience with budget forecasting and expenditure monitoring.
- Strong English language skills (written, oral and presentation); Spanish proficiency an asset;
