West Coast Gardens is a fast-growing year-round garden centre in south Surrey. Our newly built 38,000 square foot facility and surrounding retail space requires general maintenance and some light trade work. If you are an energetic individual who enjoys working with your hands and works well in a team environment, we would like to talk with you.

Handyman responsibilities include:

- Building and maintenance of merchandising displays.
- Performing maintenance and light repairs to buildings and equipment.
- Performing routine landscaping on the grounds.
- General duties to support the team.

Job brief

We are looking for a reliable part time to full time person to undertake upkeep and repair tasks at the interior or exterior of the garden centre’s premises. We’ll rely on you to keep our facilities in perfect condition by doing various odd jobs. This job has high and low times of the year that coincide with our seasons.

You must be well-organized with strong general repair skills. A keen eye for detail and physical stamina are valued greatly in this job.

Wage: $20-$25hr. Negotiable based on your skill.

**Responsibilities**:

- Perform maintenance and light repairs in plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
- Perform routine landscaping and parking lot maintenance on the grounds.
- Undertake setting up merchandising equipment. (e.g. build tables for merchandising)
- Repair merchandise when required.
- Undertake duties as assigned or emergency tasks (e.g. managing snowfall with tractor)
- Identify and report the need for major repairs and plan accordingly.
- Organize tradesmen when larger projects are required.
- General clean up and team support to keep the store clean and safe.
- Support in Garden centre duties including deliveries and pick-ups, tractor driving, forklift driving and customer service.

Requirements and skills.
- Experience with general carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
- Basic math skills
- Good communication ability
- Well-organized and apt in problem-solving
- Attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Clean drivers abstract.

Our location is not accessible by public transit. You must have your own transportation.
