Reporting to the Director, Family and Income Stability, the successful incumbent will be responsible for the management and administration of programs and staff within the Social Assistance department. The successful incumbent will also plan, implement and evaluate services delivered by the department and coordinate human and financial resources required to accomplish key performance results. The incumbent will also monitor results and outcomes of programming and develop strategies to ensure the most effective delivery of services while ensuring the achievement of departmental targets.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Successful completion of a University Degree in Social Work, Social Science, Public or Business Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum five (5) years progressively responsible experience in the delivery of Human Services including demonstrated management, leadership, project and change management experience. Other experience may be considered.
- Experience in, and knowledge of, Health, Mental Health, and /or Addictions care and systems is highly desirable
- Knowledge of relevant Legislation, Standards, Acts and Regulations
- Knowledge of Ontario Works provincial reforms
- Knowledge of the programs and services operated by the Department, community resources and social issues affecting social assistance recipients and low
- income individuals
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer services, communication, teamwork, initiative/self-management, accountability, and flexibility/adaptability
- Management competencies including results/achievement focus, human resources management, leadership, financial management, business planning, decision making/judgement, representation and professionalism and job knowledge

Contemporary supervisory and human resource management skills, knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation, labour relations principles and practices and relevant employment legislation
- Demonstrated leadership in planning, organizing, implementation and evaluation; proposal development; budgeting.
- Highly developed verbal communication, presentation, writing and analytical abilities
- Knowledge of provincial and internal systems including but not limited to SAMS (Social Assistance Management System)
- Valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and reliable vehicle for use on corporate business
- Ability to work outside regular business hours, as required
- Position will require the incumbent to work remote 75% and on-site 25%
