Brantford, Canada Child and Family Services of Grand Erie Full time

**Under the Supervision of Senior Manager of Indigenous Services and Truth and Reconciliation Lead**:
Indigenous families receiving service from Child and Family Services of Grand Erie. The work of the Coordinator will be done in collaboration with child protection staff. The Coordinator will be engaged in service planning as part of the Indigenous Services Teams in the organization.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborate with the organization’s Indigenous Protection, Children’s Services, and Resources departments to identify children, youth and families who may be eligible for Jordan’s Principle funding.
- Develop and maintain a professional relationship with external service providers.
- Provide sufficient notification to the staff attached to the file when the funding is being depleted to plan for next steps in collaboration with other staff members.
- Track and maintain statistical data. Complete monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required.
- Other Duties as assigned

- Results must be satisfactory to the employer.
- Must have a valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license and reliable vehicle.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit
- Strong oral/written communication skills
- College diploma (two year minimum) in a field related to Human Services, or social service work
- Participate in internal or external committees as needed
- Establish effective communication and cooperation with communities, service providers, agencies, and Elders
- Satisfactory results from a valid Vulnerable Records check and Criminal Records check
- Consent for Child Welfare check
- Valid Ontario's Class "G" driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle

Child and Family Services of Grand Erie (CFS GE) believes that child welfare is a shared responsibility with our community partners and strives to work collaboratively with families and the community to offer a variety of supports and services. Our goal is to keep the family unit intact by helping the family access the supports and resources they need to keep their children safe. We seek both formal and informal supports, including kin and kith to help care for children as the least intrusive measures. Even in cases where, as a last resort, children have had to reside with an alternate caregiver, our aim is to return the children to their primary caregivers as soon as possible.
