Position Summary
Research Analyst
On a practical level, you will

Assisting with the day-to-day operations of ongoing quantitative studies

Participates in database maintenance including data entry, coding and verification, record linkage and matching.

Conducting statistical analyses of data, preparing and reviewing analytic output (e.g., tables and reports).

Assisting with the development of plans for data cleaning, validation, analysis, interpretation and presentation.

Monitoring project requirements to ensure that data and procedure flow in accordance with study protocols.

Maintaining ongoing records of data collection, and analysis files in an organized manner that is easily accessible by other research team members.

Supporting literature reviews (e.g. basic, scoping, systematic).

Scheduling and attending research meetings, including preparing agendas and meeting minutes.

May contribute to other study activities including participant recruitment/enrollment and informed consent processes.

**Qualifications**:
Bachelor’s degree in health sciences, social sciences, or related fields with formal training in methodologies.

One year of quantitative research experience in an academic/health care/scientific environment an asset.

Experience analyzing quantitative data, and writing research reports.

Advanced written and verbal communication, critical thinking, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member and set priorities for delegated tasks.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Previous word-processing, database and quantitative data management experience in a Microsoft Office environment, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.

Experience working online with video conferencing technologies (e.g. Zoom, MS Teams) an asset.

Ability to produce high quality work in accordance with Hospital standards.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and knowledge of the regulatory environment in research including privacy legislation and Tri-Council Policy.

Strong knowledge and skills in statistical software, i.e. SAS or R.

Working at NYGH means working with a dynamic team of fellow healthcare providers, staff, and volunteers in one of Canada’s leading hospitals. This is a Full-time Temporary Position (approx. 12 months), with 75 hours bi-weekly, 8 hour shifts, Days, in Clinical Genetics department.
